Moscow. 25th of April. INTERFAX.RU – Russia is expelling two employees of the Latvian Embassy in Moscow as a retaliatory measure, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported on Thursday.

As stated in a message published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry, “On April 25, the Charge d’Affaires of Latvia in Russia, Dace Rutka, was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry,” who “expressed a strong protest in connection with the declaration of “persona non grata” without any the grounds of two diplomats of the Russian Embassy in Latvia.”

“Based on the principle of reciprocity, as well as in accordance with Article 9 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961, it was stated that two diplomatic employees of the Latvian Embassy are being expelled from Russia,” it was explained on Smolensk Square.
