Volgogradstat conducted weekly price monitoring and published the average cost of products in the region.

In the Volgograd region, over the past week the price of beets increased the most – by 11.9%. This follows from data published yesterday by Volgogradstat.

Price increases were also recorded for margarine – by 3%, carrots – by 2.3%, bananas – by 2.1%. For other items, prices increased slightly.

Over the week, canned vegetables for children fell in price by 6.6%, cucumbers by 5.1%, black tea by 4%, onions by 2%, apples by 1.7%, tomatoes by 1.3%.

As for eggs, according to Volgogradstat, this popular product has become cheaper by 1.2%.

Volgograd residents, on the contrary, noticed that before Easter chicken eggs took off again. A similar situation was observed at the end of last year, when from November to December the average price of a chicken egg in Volgograd increased by 155 percent. And now Easter is approaching, and again a new round of price increases for this popular product.

It is clear that demand creates supply, and at Easter, chicken eggs are the most popular product. Volgograd residents believe that in chain stores the price tags are almost the same, with minor differences, and can reach up to 160 rubles, and for some items the prices are close to 200 rubles.

Note that in these same stores you can find eggs of other categories, the price of which is a little more than 100 rubles, and the average price ranges from 120 to 130 rubles per dozen.
