A Volgograd resident strangled his partner for refusing to give birth to children

A 32-year-old Volgograd resident was sentenced to prison for the murder of his partner in 2023. The Notepad correspondent found out more.

According to the case file, on April 24 last year, Volgograd resident Alifanov quarreled with his partner. The subject of the dispute was the woman’s reluctance to have children together and attempts to break off the relationship. Therefore, while the girl was sleeping, a Volgograd man approached her, grabbed her by the neck and began to strangle her until the woman died from asphyxia. After which the man wrapped the corpse in a blanket and took it to the basement of a residential building. The body was discovered after three months of renovation work in the basement.

— K. Alifanov admitted his guilt in intentionally causing death during the trial. During the preliminary investigation, the convict applied for a confession, reporting the circumstances of the crime committed and the concealment of the corpse, which actively contributed to the disclosure and investigation of the murder, explained the press service of the Traktorozavodsky District Court of Volgograd.

The judge sentenced Alifanova to 9 years and 6 months in a maximum security penal colony.

The defendants in the criminal case struck their comrade more than 30 times, including with a glass bottle. They beat the unfortunate man until he stopped showing signs of life. After the man was killed, the attackers stole the victim’s mobile phone and sold it.
