In the Kaliningrad region, egg prices continue to reach the maximum level. The regional Ministry of Agriculture explained to RBC Kaliningrad that they cannot influence producers and sellers, although the product is included in the group of socially significant ones.

It is impossible to regulate prices, since there is only one factory in the region specializing in eggs.

“It is unlikely that it will be possible to develop competition in this area, because our consumption is now almost 100% ensured. It is difficult for any investor to go to the Kaliningrad region to produce eggs. He will look at the balance sheet and understand that this will be a very difficult struggle,” the publication quotes the words of the head of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, Artyom Ivanov.

The department told the publication that the monopolist, the Dolgov Group company, agreed to meet the regional authorities halfway and reduce prices on the eve of Easter week in its branded chain of stores until May 6. But for now, a dozen eggs of the first category cost 130 rubles.

The leaders of the Dolgov Group promised that the price of category C-1 eggs from the Guryevskaya Poultry Farm would be reduced from April 22 to May 6 to 95 rubles.
