The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia personally gave instructions to open a criminal case after a stray dog recently attacked a 10-year-old girl in Volgograd. The Volgograd Notebook correspondent learned the details.

“The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, instructed the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Volgograd Region, Vasily Ivanovich Semenov, to initiate a criminal case and submit a report on the progress and results of his investigation,” explained the press service of the Investigative Committee.

As “Notebook Volgograd” previously wrote from the words of the girl’s mother, in the Sovetsky district, near house number 15 on Pryamaya Street, a 10-year-old Volgograd girl was walking home from school. Suddenly a large dog attacked her. The girl was saved by a passerby who was able to drive the aggressive animal away from the child. At the same time, according to the victim’s mother, local residents had already complained about this dog. The mongrel was allegedly picked up by the trapping service, and then a few days later she was returned to the same place.

At the moment, the Investigative Committee for the Volgograd Region has begun a procedural verification of the incident.
