Members of military-patriotic clubs of schools in the Sovetsky district of Nizhny Novgorod took part in the International teleconference “We keep in sacred memory”, organized by the Minsk City Institute for Educational Development. This was reported in administration Sovetsky district.

Head of the Administration of the Sovetsky District Alexander Ivanov noted that having vast experience in organizing and implementing projects at various levels, educational institutions in the region are annually increasing the pace of cooperation with the Republic of Belarus.

“The Sovetsky region has been interacting with Belarus on many issues for many years. Since 2021, our school No. 173 is a member of the Association of Russia and Belarus on military-patriotic education. In the fall, we held a joint youth forum with the city of Minsk, “Time to be on the move,” where the guys exchanged experiences, shared ideas and developments in joint projects. I am sure that in the future we will find even more new and interesting ways of working together,” noted Alexander Ivanov.

The event was attended by more than 200 people from educational organizations in Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Voronezh, Pskov, Minsk, Brest, Mozyr, Domachevo and Grodno. During the meeting, Nizhny Novgorod was represented by military-patriotic clubs and teachers from Sovetsky district schools No. 49, 18, 47, 54 and 173. Deputy director of school No. 49 Irina Nikiforova introduced the teleconference participants to the system of work on patriotic education in schools in the Sovetsky district.

“Each school in the district has its own specifics: history, location, socio-cultural environment. And it is on the foundation of history and traditions that work on citizenship and patriotism of students is built, through familiarization with the heroic memory of the people during the Great Patriotic War, respect for the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland, for law and order, the older generation, the cultural heritage and traditions of the people of Russia, which is the overall goal of the Russian educational system. Every year, children participate in traditional Victory rallies, keeping the Memory Watch at the Eternal Flame of Glory in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, and meeting with veterans. The children take part especially actively in military-patriotic games: “Zarnitsa” and “Eaglet,” noted Irina Nikiforova.

During the meeting, participants discussed modern approaches to the development of citizenship and patriotism among young people, shared their experience in developing national, civil and patriotic values ​​among students, experience in organizing and functioning military-patriotic classes and clubs, and also discussed prospects for cooperation between educational organizations in Minsk and cities of Russia.

Earlier, during a report on the work of the administration for 2023, the head of Nizhny Novgorod Yuri Shalabaev reported that the city’s international and interregional ties are expanding. During 2023, new contacts were established with 26 foreign and Russian entities.
