The levels of the Ural and Sakmara rivers near Orenburg continue to decline, according to Roshydromet data.

It is noted that the water level in the rivers is steadily decreasing. As of 22:00, the Urals dropped 877 cm near Orenburg, 403 cm near Orsk, and 891 cm near Ilek.

The level of the Sakmara River near Tatarskaya Kargala as of 22:00 dropped to 809 cm. All rivers are below the critically dangerous level.

River levels near Orenburg have been falling for about a week. Both the Urals and Sakmara fell below critical levels. At the same time, thousands of houses in Orenburg, Orenburgsky district, Sakmarsky district and Orsk are still standing in water. There are still flooded areas in the Ilek and Saraktash regions.

The 2024 flood is called one of the largest on record and the most serious since 1957. In total, 89 square kilometers of the city area were flooded in Orenburg during the flood days, not counting the villages of the Orenburg region. This is about a third of the entire territory. More than 6,500 households were affected. The water entered several multi-storey blocks.
