In Novosibirsk, a city resident with a history of legal problems has been put on trial for his actions aimed at obstructing the investigation of his own case.

In the Zheleznodorozhny district of the city, charges were brought against a 33-year-old man for attempting to influence the work of the investigator, which could interfere with a high-quality and objective investigation of the circumstances of the charge, provided for in Part 2 of Article 294 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

According to the investigation materials, on the last day of summer 2023, while in the building where investigative actions were being carried out in a robbery case in which he was one of the suspects, this man deleted several documents that were key to the proceedings. The destroyed papers contained statements and investigative notes that were part of a criminal case being handled by the police department.

Thus, this citizen was charged with another criminal charge related to an attempt to distort the truth during the investigation. The criminal case is currently under consideration in the Zheleznodorozhny District Court of Novosibirsk. This incident clearly demonstrates how attempts to cover up previous crimes can only worsen the situation of the accused and lead to additional legal consequences.
