The competition is held by the Scientific and Educational Center (REC) “Engineering of the Future”. Tolyatti State University is a co-founder and active participant of the REC. According to the rules of the competition, students from universities participating in the REC presented their scientific developments aimed at solving a specific scientific and technical problem in one of five areas:

– aerospace technologies and systems;
– new generation propulsion and fuel systems;
– artificial intelligence in engineering;
– sectors of new engineering competencies;
– smart transport systems.

Students from universities in the Samara region became participants in “Engineering of the Future 2.0”.

A fourth-year student at the TSU Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Roman Voronov, took second place in the section “Sectors of New Engineering Competencies” with the project “Development of units of increased rigidity and vibration damping for small-sized CNC machines“With the help of the technology developed by the student, due to vibration damping, the accuracy of processing materials on the machine increases. According to Roman Voronov, its development can help a wide range of small industrial enterprises, as well as individual entrepreneurs whose work is related to metal processing. A model has already been created and is partially ready product prototype.

In the “Smart Transport Systems” section, the jury of the competition awarded second place to Lev Builov, a student at the TSU Institute of Mechanical Engineering.

– The project that I submitted to the competition is called “Automatic transport platform with microcontroller control“My team and I are developing automatic transport platforms for enterprise automation,” says Lev Builov. “There are about 70,000 factories and production facilities in Russia, but only 15% of them are automated. Although the positive effect of automation is obvious: it allows you to optimize the production process and reduce costs enterprises. The problem of insufficient automation persists, primarily because there are no domestic platforms on the market that can compete with foreign analogues in cost. Under the conditions of sanctions, the issue of import substitution in automation comes to the fore, so we are working on this project.
