The “St. George Ribbon” campaign, the main symbol of Russia’s military glory, started in Astrakhan

From April 24 to May 9, Victory volunteers and Youth Army members will distribute ribbons on the central streets of the city and municipalities of the Astrakhan region. Activists will tell residents about the correct wearing of the symbol and its history. The best place for the ribbon is on the chest on the left side, near the heart. It is not recommended to wear the symbol of military glory below the elbow level, on bags or outside of cars.

“By wearing a ribbon on our chest, we express gratitude and respect to those who fought for the freedom of the Motherland during the Great Patriotic War,” said Viktor Nurtazin, head of the agency for youth affairs.

In Astrakhan, the venues for the action will be: Lenin Square, the Bratsky Garden, the Astrakhan Kremlin, Petrovskaya Embankment, Victory Boulevard, Philharmonic Square, Teatralny Park, Komsomolskaya Embankment, the Sea Garden and the memorial complex “Walk of Military Glory”.
