First Deputy Chairman of the Samara Provincial Duma Marina Antimonova commented on publications on the Internet that deputies voted to support families of large migrants to the detriment of the region’s residents and the country’s budget. She called these statements a baseless and crude attempt to distort the essence of the socially important laws being adopted.

In March 2024, at the initiative of the governor of the Samara region, the Samara Provincial Duma adopted a law that significantly expanded support measures for large families who are Russian citizens. This was an important step in order to implement the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation “On measures of social support for large families.”

Marina Antimonova explained that additional social support measures are provided for Russian large families. In particular, students from such families are given the right to free travel on public transport. The issue of priority admission to preschool institutions and the organization of free meals for schoolchildren and students of secondary vocational education institutions has also been resolved. By the beginning of the school year, children from large families, which is about 64.5 thousand schoolchildren, will be provided with an annual cash payment for uniforms, including sportswear, in the amount of 11 thousand rubles.

Regarding foreign citizens, it should be noted that their support has always been provided for in regional legislation.

– You cannot leave children living in the Samara region in trouble and not help them just because they are citizens of another country. They are provided with other support measures,” the deputy notes.

She explained that we are talking about a monthly child benefit, payments to parents for food for minors in state or municipal educational organizations and some others. A similar approach is enshrined in the Federal Law on Support for Families with Children.

Explain to people the true content of the measures taken by the state in the interests of our residents! We cannot afford ignorance in these matters,” concluded Marina Antimonova.
