In 2024, taking into account weather and climatic conditions, specialists will begin work on reforestation in the Kostroma region in late April – early May. According to the Forestry Department, 16 government contracts have been concluded with organizations that will carry out forest restoration work.
For planting, seedlings of coniferous species – pine and spruce – are used. Including seedlings grown in the seed-growing center of the Segezha Group company in Sharya. Young trees with a closed root system take root better and are planted in the ground throughout the season.
Also, under the Forest Conservation project, more than 32 tons of forest seed raw materials from coniferous trees were harvested.
In addition, in 2024, the Kostroma forest protection base will continue to be equipped with specialized forest fire and forestry equipment; more than 20 million rubles have been raised from the federal budget for these activities. It is planned to purchase two more units of specialized equipment.
