A 2.5-year-old female elk died 3 km from the Kstov bypass after being hit by an unidentified vehicle. The accident happened at 7:20 a.m. on April 25. The Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife Protection of the Nizhny Novgorod Region told the news agency “In the City of N” about this.

Let us remind you that the incident with the animal became known from messages on social networks; by that time the moose cow was still alive, but the wounds she received were fatal.

A veterinarian who arrived at the scene of the accident examined the carcass of the animal, made sure it was dead, after which the moose was taken for disposal to the Kstovo state veterinary department.

The culprit of the accident has not been identified. The Ministry of Forestry of the Nizhny Novgorod Region asks drivers to respond if they recorded on the video recorder the very moment the car collided with an animal, the department addressed potential witnesses to the incident.
