26 April. A meeting of the anti-terrorism commission of the city of Magadan was chaired by the acting mayor of the regional center, Alexander Malashevsky. Representatives of law enforcement agencies and heads of relevant departments of the municipality took part in the work, the press service of the Magadan City Hall told MagadanMedia.

The main topic of the meeting was measures to ensure public order and security during the festive events dedicated to Spring and Labor Day, as well as the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

In order to prevent emergency incidents, the city Department of Internal Affairs of Russia is implementing a set of organizational and practical measures. A plan was approved to strengthen law enforcement and suppress possible terrorist attacks and other illegal actions. A working group has been formed to coordinate the activities of services and divisions of the city department.

District commissioners and police patrol officers are conducting inspections of attics and basements located in the area where the festive events are taking place.

In order to prevent acts of vandalism, protection of military glory monuments located on the territory of the regional center is provided by rapid response groups of private security organizations.

Together with dog handlers from the OMON engineering and technical group, it is planned to inspect the places where festive and sporting events with large numbers of citizens will be held, and the areas adjacent to them, for the detection of explosives using service dogs.

All city departments are implementing measures aimed at ensuring safe living conditions, increasing the requirements for those responsible for the state of order on the territory and indoors, as well as meeting the requirements of anti-terrorism security in municipal educational institutions during the preparation and holding of festive events dedicated to the May holidays.

As part of ensuring anti-terrorist security, heads of educational institutions are recommended to exclude the possibility of unauthorized access of unauthorized persons to the territory and buildings, to strengthen the provision of access and intra-facility regimes.

The EDDS ensures constant round-the-clock interaction with all duty and dispatch services in the municipality.
