About measures to support residents of the republic affected by the Chernobyl disaster | News of Gorny Altai

--

23 residents of the Altai Republic who suffered as a result of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant receive various social support measures from the regional branch of the Social Fund of Russia (OSFR).

April 26 will mark 38 years since the Chernobyl disaster. Residents of Gorny Altai also took part in eliminating the consequences of the accident that occurred in 1986. There are 23 Chernobyl survivors registered with the OSFR, including eight liquidators of the accident.

Victims of radiation disasters have the right to social support measures from the state. In particular, early retirement in old age, the establishment of disability and survivor pensions, as well as the establishment of two pensions and monthly cash payments (MCB) are provided for Chernobyl victims. Also, starting from 2022, the OSFR provides citizens exposed to radiation with separate support measures that were previously provided by social protection authorities.

Reducing the retirement age for old age directly depends on the status of the victim. For citizens who participated in the liquidation of the consequences of the disaster in 1986-1987, the retirement age is reduced by ten years. Those who took part in these works in 1988-1990 can retire five lats earlier.

In addition, a number of victims have the right to receive two monthly wages, for example, participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster who are recognized as disabled. The amount of EDV depends on the category of the beneficiary and ranges from 1901.40 to 3802.78 rubles.

Applications for Chernobyl payments can be submitted in person at the OSFR customer service; through the MFC; through the State Services portal.
