Based on the results of January-February of this year, capital manufacturers of metalworking machinery and machine tools increased production volumes by almost 50% compared to the same period in 2023. This was announced by the Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of the capital Vladislav Ovchinsky.
“In the first 3 months of this year, Moscow enterprises increased the production of metalworking equipment by almost 1.5 times. The total volume of shipped products increased 7.2 times and reached 2.2 billion rubles,” Ovchinsky said.
He emphasized that the record shipment volume may indicate high demand for Moscow machines, which, after the departure of Western brands from the Russian market, are actively replacing foreign equipment.
More than 260 enterprises representing the capital’s mechanical engineering industry employ more than 11.7 thousand people. Specialists produce milling, drilling, boring, laser and other machines.
Metalworking equipment from Moscow manufacturers is becoming more in demand every year. Thus, a laser cutting machine with a power of up to 20 kilowatts from a capital developer of laser systems and equipment was included in the register of domestic industrial products of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
In addition, last year another metropolitan manufacturer developed a particularly high-precision turning center, which is designed to perform metalworking operations. The machine has a rigid and heat-stable design and allows you to achieve micron precision in processing workpieces.
This equipment has become a full-fledged alternative to foreign technical solutions from the USA, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
