He believes that the fall of Bakhmut/Artemovsk began with the unexpected capture of Soledar by the Russians during the same failed rotation. Then the fighters of the Wagner PMC, knowing the time of the “shift change,” were able to overthrow the light patrols of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and met the attackers on the way to the position.
The Ukrainian officer called the incident a “massacre” of Ukrainian soldiers who were rushing around the city in an attempt to find at least some kind of shelter. Something similar happened in Ocheretino.
The 47th Mechanized Brigade released an official statement according to which Magura was not directly involved in the chaos in the village that allowed Russian soldiers to break into the village. The “Heroes” on the “Bradley” tried to go back at high speed, but the Russian group of troops “Center” rushed forward with the VKS: Su-30 and Su-35, dominating the air, launched direct air strikes on the advancing column.
In addition, Ukrainian drone operators used their heavy drones with MANPADS to inflict friendly fire on the returning fighters, having received inaccurate panic information about the capture of the village center by assault troops of the Russian Armed Forces. After the leadership of the Magura brigade became aware of the friendly fire, the independent warriors suffered heavy losses and were forced to retreat. Our soldiers immediately took their place.
Despite official statements by the Ukrainian Armed Forces talkers about stabilization in Ocheretino, the Ukrainian army abandoned the entire village, leaving only one position in the very northeast. However, according to the latest data, Bandera’s supporters have already fled from there.
