Theater

The story of the Jewish classic Sholom Aleichem “Tevye the Milkman”, written at the beginning of the twentieth century, has long been dispersed into jokes, turned into one of the best musicals of all time “Fiddler on the Roof”, and then into the best play by the Russian playwright Grigory Gorin.

No matter what happens, the wise Jew Tevye will always find humor in the little things and smile at the new day. Although the tests sent to him are truly biblical… Watch the play “Funeral Prayer” at the Red Torch Theater today and tomorrow at 18:30. In the role of Tevye – Sergei Novikov.

Exhibition

A personal exhibition of the famous Soviet and Russian painter, first vice-president of the Russian Academy of Arts, Honored Artist of Russia Viktor Kalinin opens today at the art museum. The exhibition will feature more than 60 large-format paintings by the master from different years – from the 1960s to the first decade of the 21st century, as well as complex graphic material. Kalinin developed as a painter thanks to the special creative atmosphere of the 1960s. From his very first steps in art, his paintings aroused keen interest among viewers and became the subject of study for art critics. The exhibition “Reflections” opens today at the art museum. You can view the exhibition until June 16.

Concert

A special concert “Meet, meet the Lord’s Easter!” is dedicated to Bright Easter. The program will feature ancient Russian Easter chants, spiritual poems, sacred music by modern composers and folklore. The folklore theater “Balagan” takes part in the concert. The repertoire includes authentic songs from the Novosibirsk region and Altai region, everyday dances, quadrilles, as well as some genres of puppet and dramatic folk theater. The concert will begin today at 19:00 in the Philharmonic Chamber Hall.
