In Samara, the shopping arcades located at the intersection of Moskovskoye Highway and Novo-Vokzalnaya Street will be moved. Vladislav Zotov, head of the Samara Department of Economic Development, Investment and Trade, spoke about this in an interview with Volga News.

According to him, the old shopping arcades will leave the territory of the power line protection zone. There will simply be a landscaped area.

“The new municipal fair will be located nearby, taking into account the security zone of the power line. The operator is working on the installation of a retail facility. Completion of the work is scheduled for June 2024,” said Vladislav Zotov.

This is what the site will look like.

The issue of moving the market was raised by energy workers several years ago. The fact is that in the immediate vicinity of the retail outlets there is a power line support. This was considered unsafe both for visitors and market workers, and for the entire city. In the event of an emergency (for example, a fire), part of Samara could be left without electricity.

According to Volga News, Voskhod and K LLC remains the operator of the fair. According to Seldon.Basis information system, the founders of the company are Elena and Alexander Kan. They also own the Golden Pagoda restaurant, where a major fire occurred in 2020.
