On April 25, an action of veterans and youth took place in the Central Park of Culture and Recreation of the city of Ryazan, dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the formation of the Ryazan branch of the All-Union Lenin Communist Youth Union and the approaching Victory Day. The event was attended by veterans of the Komsomol, students of the Ryazan Radio Engineering Institute named after. V.F. Utkina, members of the Altair tourist club, employees and young activists of the Art-Cent MBUK.

The honorary guests of the event were retired lieutenant colonel, chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Ryazan State Radio Engineering University Anatoly Yakovlevich Ageev and Komsomol veteran, organizer of the construction brigade movement Nina Dmitrievna Belysheva.

The chairman of the public council of the Museum of the History of the Youth Movement, Komsomol veteran Irina Borisovna Astakhova addressed the participants of the action with a welcoming speech.

“The Central Park of Culture and Recreation is one of the places that is associated with the youth movement. There is a memorial stone here. Unfortunately, in recent years the inscription has been lost. We decided to restore historical justice so that all Ryazan residents would know what this place is dedicated to,” noted Irina Borisovna.

The first organizational meeting of the Ryazan branch of Komsomol members took place on April 28, 1919. On April 25, 1978, on the opening day of the XVIII Komsomol Congress, a birch alley was planted in the Central Park of Culture and Culture by veterans and students of the Ryazan Radio Engineering Institute. On April 24, 1985, on the 40th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, a birch grove was planted nearby and a memorial stone was erected with information about these events. The stone was delivered by Radio University students from the Klepikovsky district. Over time, the inscription was lost. On the eve of the action, the inscription was restored.

During the event, veterans told young people about the traditions of the Komsomol and the history associated with memorable places in the Central Park of Culture and Recreation.

The honorary guests of the memorable event, Anatoly Yakovlevich Ageev and Nina Dmitrievna Belysheva, in their speeches wished the students to remember, honor and increase the memory of those who were the founders of the regional branch of the Komsomol, to study and work for the benefit of their hometown.

At the end of the event, all participants laid flowers at the memorial sign. Students also took part in a cleanup event on the territory of the birch alley in the Central Park of Culture and Leisure.
