According to Petushenko, work is planned to begin this year and be completed in 2026. This will be a six-lane road along its entire length from Kamensk-Shakhtinsky to the village of Persianovsky in the Aksai region. It is noted that today this section is four-lane and clearly cannot cope with the current traffic intensity. The share of trucks on some sections of the route is 50%, which creates a tense situation on the road.
The governor of the Rostov region noted that during the work it is necessary to maintain traffic on four lanes. The head of the state-owned company noted that this issue is already being studied.
— This is a key task – traffic cannot be limited during work. A complex implementation scheme has been developed: there will be four temporary bridges, many sections where we will either build temporary roads or expand existing ones. For the entire period of implementation of this project, we will, of course, have four lanes, two in one direction and the other. The only thing is, we will limit the speed, since this is a construction site, but the area will be small, so the loss of time will also be small,” said Vyacheslav Petushenko.
Golubev noted that the reconstruction of the federal highway is a state-level project and there is nothing to replace it in the region.
It also became known during the meeting that by mid-June, comprehensive landscaping with lighting and partial replacement of the road surface in areas of wear and tear will be completed on the section up to 933 km on the M-4.
