Since the beginning of 2024, individuals and entrepreneurs have purchased 91 real estate properties in the city center of the capital. This was announced by the Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Moscow City Property Department Maxim Gaman.

According to the minister, some of them are located in historical buildings.

“Based on the results of the first quarter of 2024, individuals and entrepreneurs entered into 91 purchase and sale agreements for real estate in the center of the capital with a total area of 16.71 thousand square meters. These are mainly premises located in basements, on the ground and attic floors of non-residential buildings and apartment buildings. They have a free purpose, which will allow them to be used for various commercial purposes – for opening shops, cafes, distribution points, and additional education institutions,” said Maxim Gaman.

Commercial real estate in the city center is in high demand among investors due to high business and consumer activity, as well as developed infrastructure.

The 10 premises acquired from the city with an area of 1.66 thousand square meters are located in cultural heritage sites. The new owners will have to ensure the safety of the monuments during operation. Moreover, any work carried out in historical buildings must be agreed with the capital’s Department of Cultural Heritage.
