Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to reduce the travel time of passenger trains from Moscow to the resorts of the Black Sea coast to 16 hours. This was stated on the Kremlin website on Thursday, April 25.

We are talking about reducing the travel time of passenger rail transport. This issue will have to be worked out by the Russian government until June 15.

The head of state also instructed to raise the issue of separating passenger and freight transportation by train from the regions of the Central Federal District in the direction of ports and resorts.

Previously, Fontanka wrote that the travel time on a high-speed train from Moscow to St. Petersburg will take 2 hours and 15 minutes. Russian Railways have already signed a contract for the supply of the first two trains by March 2028.

The maximum speed should be 400 km per hour, operational speed – 360 km per hour. In this case, it is possible to connect two compositions.
