Two players from the Amur hockey club have been called up to their national teams to take part in the World Ice Hockey Championships. Kirill Panyukov will play for the team from Kazakhstan, Jan Drozg will play for the Slovenian national team, reports the Khabarovsk Territory Today news agency.

The players of the Khabarovsk club, however, will not meet on the same site. The fact is that Slovenia was relegated from the “elite club” last year and this time will compete at the World Hockey Championship among first division teams. The Slovenians must make every effort to return to the camp of the best teams on the planet. But striker Kirill Panyukov, as part of the Kazakh team, will fight for the main IIHF cup.

– Playing for the national team is always a great emotion. But at the same time, it is now very pleasant to participate in the preparations for the World Cup. And after training I try to spend time with my loved ones,” he said. Kirill Panyukov.

The World Hockey Championship will be held in the Czech Republic from May 10 to 26. For Kirill Panyukov and his team, the first match will take place on May 11; at the start of the tournament, Kazakhstan’s opponent will be the French team.
