At the Gazprom Neft basic department you can get two higher educations at once – Omsk News

According to project leaders, the initiative is aimed at increasing the level of professional knowledge of future oil refiners. Already in the second year, students will be able to begin training in the specialties “Automation of Technological Processes” or “Economics” as part of the target enrollment. Upon graduation, graduates will be awarded two diplomas of higher education.

“Interaction with the Omsk Refinery allows us to train professionals who meet the needs of real production. We see that today there is a growing interest in personnel with a diverse set of competencies. This year, the basic department will allocate more than 30 places for future technologists and mechanics. Training in two directions in parallel allows students to expand the scope of their professional activities and become a sought-after cross-functional specialist for the Gazprom Neft company, – said the acting. Rector of Omsk State Technical University Pavel Korchagin.

The Gazprom Neft basic department has been working at Omsk State Technical University since 2014. Training is conducted in two main areas – “Chemical technology” and “Technological machines and equipment”. During its work, the department has graduated more than 230 specialists for the oil refining industry, who receive a guaranteed employment opportunity at the Omsk Refinery.

“The Omsk Refinery has modern production technologies, equipment and control systems. To work at our enterprise we require the most highly qualified specialists, so we are interested in young, active professionals with extensive knowledge who want to develop and solve the most complex production problems. These are the ones who come to us after studying at the basic department,” — noted the General Director of the Omsk Refinery Oleg Belyavsky.

We would like to add that the training of highly qualified personnel for oil refining takes place within the framework of the “School – College/University – Omsk Refinery” program with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Omsk Region. A new intake for the basic department of Gazprom Neft at Omsk State Technical University starts in June.
