In Ulan-Ude, deputies took part in the opening of the XI volleyball tournament for the City Council Cup – Society

Today, the opening of the XI volleyball tournament in Ulan-Ude “City Council Cup”, dedicated to the Year of the Family in Russia, took place at the Cultural and Sports Complex.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Sports of Buryatia Ivan Kozyrev, the chairman of the Chamber of Control and Accounts of the city administration Larisa Ubeeva, the chairman of the Volleyball Federation of Buryatia Viktor Zaitsev, the deputy chairman of the Ulan-Ude City Council Anatoly Belousov, city council deputies Denis Egorov, Belikto Tsybikov, Anatoly Perepelitsa and others.

– Greetings to all competition participants! It is gratifying that teams from other regions found the opportunity to come to a major sporting event and show their skills. This year a wonderful sports center for the development of volleyball will open in microdistrict 103 of Ulan-Ude. In our city, volleyball is considered the most popular sport, with 42 thousand athletes practicing,” said Anatoly Belousov.

Denis Egorov joined in the warm welcoming words. He noted the older generation for its commitment to such a sport as volleyball.

– By their shining example, veterans show what volleyball is and how we should love and respect it. Dear participants, I wish you success in sport and may your battles be bright, so that the audience can enjoy the game and be filled with energy,” said Denis Egorov.

It should be noted that 42 teams – more than 450 people – took part in the competition. These are teams from sports schools in the city of Ulan-Ude and Buryatia, national teams of veterans from the city of Ulan-Ude and other regions (Irkutsk, Khabarovsk). It is important to say that for the first time, volleyball teams from family dynasties competed in the tournament: the Sandipovs and Tsyrenovs (Dzhidinsky district), the Ayushinovs (Ivolginsky district), and the Ochirovs (Zakamensky district).

At the end of the opening ceremony, the Minister of Sports of Buryatia, Ivan Kozyrev, awarded the Badge of Honor “Excellence in Physical Culture and Sports of Russia” to the coach-teacher of the Kurumkan Youth Sports School, Zorikto Tyskenovich Garmaev.
