Rostov region, April 26, 2024. DON24.RU. Residents of the Rostov region, whose children go to school, are changing the platform for communication with each other. Parental chats are transferred from the usual WhatsApp messenger (owned by Meta, which is recognized as an extremist organization in Russia; its activities are prohibited) to the Sferum educational platform in the VK Messenger application.

“Dear parents. Follow the link and join group 1 “A”. We are recommended to work on this platform in the future,” parents of a Rostov school received from the teacher.

The regional Ministry of Education explained to DON 24 news agency that communication is being transferred to a new platform in order to increase the security of the information infrastructure of the education system. At the same time, switching to Sferum is only a recommendation.

“The Sferum platform can also be used for online meetings, work meetings, broadcasting events with a large number of connections, as well as for the purpose of organizing operational interaction and communication with subordinate organizations,” the ministry added.
