Since the beginning of the year, 10 counterfeit banknotes have been found in the Belgorod region

The Belgorod branch of the Bank of Russia said that in the first quarter of 2024, 10 counterfeit banknotes were identified through the banking system. Most often, criminals counterfeit 5 thousandths – 9 banknotes were found. Another fake – face value 1,000 rubles.

Against the backdrop of residents gradually moving away from using cash and strengthening control over the authenticity of money, the amount of counterfeit money compared to the first quarter of 2023 was almost halved – then they found 19 banknotes.

The regulator notes that everyone who works with cash can improve their literacy to avoid fraud.
