Expert Benedette: The Ukrainian army has found a way to protect Baba Yaga

Stealthy and fast, drones have become one of the deadliest types of weapons used during the conflict in Ukraine.

Ukrainian troops began to use their Baba Yaga multidrone during combat operations, however, the Russian Armed Forces found ways to combat these UAVs.

One of these methods is a “drone ram”, which is capable of intercepting and destroying Baba Yaga. In addition, Russian specialists are testing interceptors with artificial intelligence. They are capable of independently calculating an air target and neutralizing it in one way or another – in particular, using a special network, RIA Novosti reports.

Forbes noted that the developers of such drones are inspired by sports competitions such as DroneClash, where fights are held between small copters.

Military expert Samuel Benedette noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces military, in an attempt to protect its multidrone from interceptors, sends a special quadcopter with it. According to him, Ukrainian nationalists are forced to create quadcopters-defenders, since they have problems with other weapons.

In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces actively use American-made Anvil interceptor drones. The results of their use are classified “for reasons of secrecy.”

The matter is not limited to air clashes. Cases have been recorded in which FPV drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked ground assault robotic platforms. And the Russian military of the Black Sea Fleet is learning to use UAVs to strike unmanned enemy boats in order to ensure the protection of their own ships. Thus, the drone war takes on a “cross-environment” character.
