In Sevastopol, at the entrance to passenger boats that sail from the Grafskaya pier pier, entrance turnstiles are installed.
As reported by the city’s Department of Transport and Road Transport Infrastructure Development, they will be equipped with terminals for contactless fare payment, machines for selling single tickets, as well as a special light indication indicating permission or prohibition of passage.
In addition, the current timetable for the movement of sea vessels, departure boards and arrival forecasts will also be posted there.
“The turnstiles will help ensure security and reliable closure of the passage area and will limit unauthorized access to the pier. Each turnstile is adapted for visually impaired and low-mobility groups of the population,” the department noted.
Later, the same turnstiles will be installed at the entrance to the berths located in Artillery Bay and on Zakharov Square on the North Side. It is assumed that all turnstiles will work interconnectedly online and be connected to a system for counting the number of passengers of all urban transport.
Question about the need to install turnstiles to control maritime passenger transportation raised back in 2014, but not then, not a year Later, they could not find money to purchase the appropriate equipment.
