On April 21, the Gala concert of the XIX Open Competition of Russian Folk Dance named after. T.A. Ustinova, which has been held since 1986 by the Tver Regional House of Folk Art.
T.A. Ustinova is the chief choreographer of the choir. M.E. Pyatnitsky, People’s Artist of the USSR, Professor, Laureate of State Prizes, Honorary Citizen of Tver.
Dance groups from the Tver, Leningrad, Moscow, Kaluga and Chelyabinsk regions, as well as from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Orel and Yaroslavl, took part in the competitive selection.
All dance groups participating in the competition showed a high level of skill, and our fellow countrymen also performed well.
Two Tver dance groups were recognized as laureates of the 1st degree: the dance theater “Romantics” (Palace of Children and Youth Creativity, Tver, director Liliya Lebedeva, teacher Yuri Uskov) and the folk dance ensemble “Kabluchok” (Leisure Center “Mir”, Tver , leader Natalya Koltsova, teacher Victoria Marycheva).
