They save lives even on their professional holiday. Today, service employees of the Yaroslavl region were honored in the regional capital. There are 115 organizations this year.

There are more than a hundred brigades in the region. They have 283 vehicles and modern medical equipment in their arsenal. There is also an air ambulance service. Over the past year, 43 flights were made to the regions. According to doctors, a lot has changed in the work over the past 5 years.

Andrey Zhivoy, chief physician of the emergency medical service station and disaster medicine center of the Yaroslavl region:
– Firstly, we have teamed up with the Center for Disaster Medicine. We now have a joint legal venture. Secondly, we have created a single dispatch center throughout the Yaroslavl region, all calls from the region come directly to us. We distribute and control them here. In addition, we created an air ambulance department. We started flying in 2021. The number of flights increases every year. All this ensures mobility, efficiency and speed of medical care.

Larisa Andreeva, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Yaroslavl Region:
– We really have a very serious ambulance service, it is equipped with helicopters and new vehicles. But the most important thing is, of course, the people. They are ahead of fate, they help people every day. And today the state must do everything to ensure that they have enough resources to provide this assistance.

Doctors day and night, in any weather, help people throughout the region. In honor of the anniversary of the service, First Yaroslavsky will show a film about the destinies and everyday life of emergency medical workers and the disaster medicine center of the region. Today at seventeen o’clock. Also in the evening on the Yaroslavl TV tower you can see congratulations addressed to the service. At the celebration itself, the ambulance workers were already congratulated by the authorities, the actors of the First Russian and other honored guests. The doctors collected a string of certificates and awards for their hard work.

Evgeny Afanasyev, chairman of the trade union of the ambulance station and disaster medicine center of the Yaroslavl region:
– In a month it will be 25 years since I have been an ambulance officer. Why? Well, this is probably some kind of special profession. You know, there is a saying: “The ambulance and the north beckon.” So I just haven’t been to the north. And one day I came here in an emergency and didn’t even think about changing my profession. Unfortunately, the specifics of our work are such that we probably see more of human grief and pain. But there are also joyful moments. We participate in the birth of children, births in the car. A new member of society appeared in the car. This also always makes me happy.
