On the slipway of the Ship Repair and Shipbuilding Corporation in Gorodets, the laying of a floating repair dock of project 28140C took place for the branch of the Zvezdochka Shipyard – the Krasnaya Kuznitsa shipyard. This was reported by the telegram channel of the designer, the Sea Tech company.
The type of vessel is a steel ten-pontoon floating repair dock with continuous metal longitudinal towers, the statement said.
Purpose – a vessel for docking and repair of ships and vessels with a docking weight of 5000 tons, performing work on repair, cleaning and painting of the outer plating, bottom-side fittings, rudder group, anchor device, and replacement of tread protection.
The new dock is a deep modernization of Project 28140, which is adapted to the conditions of northern latitudes. It is planned that it will replace the oldest of the Krasnaya Kuznitsa docks – PD No. 47, built in 1953.
This project is being implemented within the framework of the USC docking program, which is part of the state program of the Russian Federation “Development of the military-industrial complex.”
