The chief pediatric surgeon of Russia visited the Samara region on a working visit

Minister of Health of the Samara Region Armen Benyan held a working meeting with the chief freelance pediatric surgeon of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, director of the separate structural unit “Research Clinical Institute of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery named after Academician Yu. E. Veltishchev” of the Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education Russian National Research Medical University named after. N.I. Pirogov by Dmitry Morozov.

At the meeting, together with the chief freelance pediatric surgeon of the Ministry of Health of the Samara Region, Margarita Barskaya, and the chief physician of the regional hospital, Sergei Pushkin, they discussed the development of the pediatric surgical service in the region, personnel issues and cooperation with the National Medical Research Center.

“The development of children’s healthcare is a priority of our work and one of the most important directions of the national project “Healthcare”. Just last year we opened several significant facilities for children’s medicine. This is the building of the children’s infectious diseases hospital, the updated unit of the Neftegorsk hospital, the new building of the clinical diagnostic department of the children’s of the Ivanova Hospital, we create comfortable conditions for young patients and modern opportunities for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases,” the head of the department noted.
Infrastructural changes need to be complemented by new organizational solutions. And here our interaction with experts from federal centers plays a big role. I thank Dmitry Anatolyevich for methodological support and recommendations for the development of a regional pediatric surgery service.”

The expert also visited the Samara Regional Clinical Hospital named after V.D. Seredavin and took part in the Russian Symposium of Pediatric Surgeons “Surgical Diseases of the Anterior Abdominal Wall in Children.”

Dmitry Morozov inspected the pediatric surgery and intensive care departments, as well as the operating unit of the hospital’s pediatric building. He highly appreciated the work of professionals in neonatal and abdominal surgery, maxillofacial surgery and specialists from the ENT department, resuscitators and neonatologists.
