In the Khorinsky district on April 21, a labor veteran and home front worker celebrated her anniversary. Irina Borisova turned 95 years old, the Ministry of Social Protection of Buryatia reported.

The hero of the day was born into a peasant family in the family village of Khasurta. There were many long-livers in the family – my grandfather lived 107 years, and my mother lived 96 years.

In 1948, Irina Georgievna graduated from the Khasurtai seven-year school and went to Tegda. There she worked as a hairdresser and soon married a young primary school teacher, Alexander Petrovich.

At the end of 1949, the proactive teacher was transferred to the St. George School. At the new place, the hero of the day got a job as a salesperson. Then sons Peter and Alexander were born into the family.

In 1961, the family moved to Khorinsk and settled in their own home. The centenarian’s husband worked for many years in the apparatus of the Khorinsky district committee of the CPSU, then for more than 10 years he headed the social security department.

– Irina Georgievna worked as a salesperson for many years. To this day, the older generation of Khorin residents remembers “Irinin’s store” on Pervomaiskaya Street. Her total work experience is 52 years, of which exactly half is in the trade sector.

Son Peter dreamed of becoming a pilot since childhood and became one. He served and lived with his family in Mongolia, Germany, Georgia, and Afghanistan. He also took part in air battles over Kabul and was awarded the Order of the Red Star.

Three years ago, the centenarian was left alone. Therefore, she returned to the village of Khasurta to visit her relatives.

“Aunt Ira always took care of us, her nephews, for which we are very grateful to her,” said her niece Nina Filippovna.

Despite her age, Irina Georgievna is full of strength, energy and optimism. On her birthday, she was congratulated by representatives of the district council of deputies, the department of the district Ministry of Social Protection, and also presented with personal congratulations from Russian President Vladimir Putin and the head of the republic Alexei Tsydenov and a certificate for an anniversary payment as a military home front worker.
