Since childhood, Rimsky-Korsakov dreamed of becoming a naval officer. He became interested in music while studying in St. Petersburg. A composer without professional education, in a short space of time, mastered musical form, the principles of orchestration, and found his own style and writing techniques, bypassing the school foundation. He wrote in all genres and created 15 operas.

The concert featured romances by Rimsky-Korsakov performed by David Pogosyan, Anastasia Vecherkina, Georgy Shagalov, Valeria Andreeva, Vladimir Borovikov, Elena Marchenko, Tatyana Gaivoronskaya, Artem Kamalitdinov, Irina Yantseva, Maxim Sudarev, Anastasia Lapa and Dmitry Kryzhsky.

In the new season the program “In a fit of heartfelt tenderness“will be included in the repertoire of the Opera and Ballet Theater. Its musical director was the artistic director and chief conductor Evgeny Khokhlov.
