China hopes to develop mutually beneficial cooperation between the Ivanovo region and the regions of the People’s Republic of China, Xie Manqing, Deputy Director of the Department of Europe and Central Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, stated this at the presentation of the Ivanovo region at the Russian diplomatic mission in Beijing, which took place on Friday, April 26, TASS reports.
“We welcome the disclosure of the advantages of the Ivanovo region – its resource industry and geographical location – for the active expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation with China in order to enrich bilateral relations,” TASS quotes Xie Manqing.
According to her, China knows about the advantages of the Ivanovo region in the fields of mechanical engineering, textile industry, agriculture and tourism.
Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov said at the presentation that the development of interregional ties is becoming increasingly important in relations between Russia and China and pointed out that the development of ties between regions creates growth points for practical cooperation between the two countries.
According to the diplomat, today there are 383 pairs between the regions of the two countries, 135 of them at the level of federal subjects, 248 at the level of municipalities. “Between 43 Russian regions and provinces and autonomous regions of China, 117 cooperation agreements have been signed and are in force in a variety of areas,” TASS quotes Morgulov.
On Friday, a presentation of the Ivanovo region took place at the Russian Embassy in China. It was visited by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, a regional delegation headed by Governor Stanislav Voskresensky, Chinese entrepreneurs, and Chinese pupils of the International Orphanage in Ivanovo.
