In Bryansk, a memorial rally was held at the Monument to the Victims of Chernobyl on the 38th anniversary of the terrible tragedy. A spruce garland, wreaths and flowers were laid at the foot of the monument, writes the Bryansk Gubernia TV and Radio Broadcasting Company.
The governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, notes on his personal social networks that thanks to the courage, resilience, self-sacrifice, and professionalism of those who protected civilians from a nuclear disaster and took part in the rehabilitation of the contaminated territory, millions of citizens of our country were saved.
More than 600,000 people took part in eliminating the consequences of the disaster. If not for their heroic feat, the consequences could have been even more dire.
