Today, April 26, the Governor of the Orenburg Region Denis Pasler presented certificates of prizes and scholarships to athletes and coaches based on the results of 2023.

Leading athletes and coaches of the Orenburg region took part in the award ceremony.

– You are our pride. People who worthily represent the region in the sports arenas of Russia, Europe and the world. Thank you for the victories and high results! Of course, your achievements are largely due to the support of your family and friends, and the professional work of the Orenburg coaching staff. I thank all the mentors who have been developing and honing the talents of athletes for many years. With your work, knowledge, wisdom and patience, you guide athletes to new victories,” said Denis Vladimirovich.

In 2024, 85 athletes and 49 coaches will receive scholarships from the governor of the Orenburg region. One-time bonuses will be given to 175 athletes and 80 coaches. In addition, in the Orenburg region, for two years, champions and prize-winners of the Olympic, Paralympic, and Deaflympic Games, as well as world and European champions, receive payments for the purchase of housing. In 2023, 6 athletes received it for a total amount of more than 17 million rubles.

Last year, Orenburg athletes won 322 medals at official competitions at the world, European and all-Russian levels: 117 gold, 91 silver and 114 bronze.

In 2023, Orenburg boxers Alexei Zobnin and Rishat Bakirov received the sports title “Master of Sports of Russia of International Class”. The sports title “Master of Sports of Russia” was awarded to 41 athletes.

Orenburg teams in team sports distinguished themselves at all-Russian competitions. In the premier leagues of Russian championships, the Fakel-Gazprom table tennis club won a silver medal, the Nadezhda basketball club – 4th place, and the Orenburg football club – 7th place. The volleyball club “Orenburg” takes part in the super league of the Russian championship. The hockey club “South Ural” reached the playoffs of the All-Russian Hockey League for the first time in five years.
