A resident of Almetyevsk who intended to fight on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was detained in the Belgorod region. This was reported by the press service of the Russian FSB Directorate for the Belgorod Region.
Officers stopped the criminal activities of a Russian citizen who was trying to travel to the territory of Ukraine to participate in hostilities against the Russian Armed Forces. A resident of the city of Almetyevsk (Republic of Tatarstan), born in 1994, intended to illegally cross the border of the Russian Federation in order to go over to the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to join the ranks of a terrorist organization operating on the territory of Ukraine.
The investigative department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Belgorod region initiated and investigated criminal cases on Part 1 Art. 30, art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Treason) and Part 1 Art. 30, part 2 art. 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Participation in the activities of a terrorist organization).
The man was found guilty of committing a crime under the specified articles of the Criminal Code of Russia. He was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of nine years to be served in a maximum security colony.
