Artificial intelligence will become the basic medical technology in the capital in the coming years, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said. In his blog, the mayor described how digital technologies are improving the quality of medical care in the capital.
“Just 10–15 years ago, digitalization of healthcare was considered as an auxiliary technology for solving organizational problems – reducing queues to doctors, establishing control, putting things in order with documentation, and so on. All this, of course, is still relevant today. But that’s far from the main thing. The main thing is that modern digital technologies really save lives and radically improve the quality of treatment for people,” the mayor wrote.
According to the mayor, there are plans to turn artificial intelligence into a core medical technology in the coming years. As a result, not only therapists, but also other Moscow doctors will have digital assistants who will be able to suggest the optimal treatment tactics for patients. In addition, routine paperwork will disappear – medical information will be recorded and processed exclusively in a digital environment, doctors will be able to devote more time to tasks where their competencies are truly needed.
It is also planned to introduce a proactive approach, in which artificial intelligence will analyze patient medical records and identify the risks of diseases. Telemedicine will become a common practice, which will allow solving a significant part of simple health problems online, without a personal visit to a doctor.
“These are the main provisions of the development strategy for Moscow healthcare until 2030. There is a lot of work, but all the goals we have set are absolutely specific and achievable,” concluded Sergei Sobyanin.
