The event is timed to coincide with the Day of Russian Parliamentarism, which is celebrated on April 27. The awards were presented to the winners by the First Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly Denis Moiseev .
“This ceremony is special; it takes place in the year of the 30th anniversary of the Legislative Assembly of the region. And exactly half of them we hold a review competition of youth chambers of municipalities. Over the course of 15 years, the competition has attracted more than 250 participants, and its results are an example of effective interaction between government and youth and open dialogue. The “Parliamentary Debates” competition, established for the 20th anniversary of the regional parliament, is 5 years younger noted Denis Moiseev . – Today, youth parliamentary structures operate in 43 municipalities of the region. The review competition has been held since 2009 and is aimed at developing the youth parliamentary movement, identifying and disseminating best practices in the work of municipal public youth chambers.
The competition participants were divided into two groups: the results were summed up separately among the parliaments of urban districts and parliaments of municipal districts, with three prizes and two incentive places awarded in each group.
To encourage parliamentary formations, the Legislative Assembly of the region established special diplomas and cash prizes.
In 2024, 18 youth parliamentary formations of seven southern Ural cities took part in the competition: Magnitogorsk, Miass, Ozersk, Snezhinsk, Trekhgorny, Ust-Katav, Yuzhnouralsk. 11 districts also took part: Agapovsky, Argayashsky, Ashinsky, Bredinsky, Varna, Verkhneuralsky, Etkulsky, Kartalinsky, Kusinsky, Nagaibaksky and Uvelsky districts.
The winners were the youth chambers of Ust-Katav, Magnitogorsk, and Snezhinsk. In the second group, awards were awarded to the chambers of Kusinsky, Ashinsky and Uvelsky districts.
To the final of the competition “Parliamentary debates“In 2024, 8 teams entered. Prize-winning places were taken by the teams of SUSU, Snezhinsky Institute of Physics and Technology and the team of the branch of the Military Educational and Scientific Center of the Air Force Air Force Academy named after Professor N.E. Zhukovsky and Yu.A. Gagarin” in Chelyabinsk.
