The prosecutor’s office of the Arkhangelsk region went to court because it considered that the administration of IK-1 was violating the rights of a group III disabled person serving a sentence within the walls of the colony.
An inspection by the control body found that the convict was not provided with means of technical rehabilitation, including a prosthetic leg and a cane. In addition, he was not given the required special shoes. These restrictions significantly limited his life activities.
In order to restore the social rights of the disabled person, the prosecutor’s office filed an administrative claim. By a court decision, IK-1 was entrusted with the obligation to provide the convicted person with means of rehabilitation.
The court decision was executed, the disabled person was provided with these items, and his rights were restored.
