Ulyanovsk gynecologists removed a woman’s giant ovarian cyst / 73online.ru

Gynecologists at the Ulyanovsk Regional Hospital removed a giant ovarian cyst from a 52-year-old patient, the press service of the regional Ministry of Health reports.

Thus, a woman’s abdominal volume increased greatly in a short time. She did not attach much importance to this, but when pain appeared, she turned to the doctors.

During an ultrasound, doctors discovered a large mass and referred the patient to the gynecological department of the regional hospital.

– The entire small pelvis, as well as the left half of the abdominal cavity, was occupied by a left ovarian cyst measuring 25 by 20 cm and with a volume of 3 liters. We performed an operation and removed the tumor. The cyst not only caused discomfort to the woman, but also posed a threat to her life, said Svetlana Savenko, head of the gynecological department of the hospital.

After the operation, the patient quickly recovered and was discharged from the hospital.
