On April 22 and 25, 2024, a subbotnik took place on the territory of the churches of Varlaam Khutyn and Elijah the Prophet in the city of Vologda, during which the rector of the two churches, Priest Sergius Zyablitsky, together with students of the Vologda Institute of Law and Economics of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, improved the territory of the churches located in the center of the regional capital.
The workers armed themselves with rakes and removed a mass of dry leaves and branches that disturbed the aesthetic appearance of the area around the temples.
The Temple of Varlaam of Khutyn and the Temple of Elijah the Prophet are located on the so-called tourist “Varlaam Route”, which is often followed by guests of our city. Thus, cleaning the area adjacent to temples is necessary to preserve the beauty and purity of nature, which complements historical monuments and gives them a unique and unique look.
