Residents of Kunya joined the International “Garden of Memory” campaign

Residents of Kunya joined the International “Garden of Memory” campaign, writes the newspaper “Plamya”.

The event was attended by 11th grade students from the Kunyin school, representatives of the Veterans Council, the district administration and the district cultural center. The Kunyin residents planted 20 trees in the central park of the village, seedlings of which were provided by the Velikolukskoe forestry.

In addition, linden trees that were planted several years ago on a site that was subject to reconstruction under the “Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment” program of the presidential national project “Housing and Urban Environment” were transplanted to a new location.

Let us remind you that the International patriotic campaign “Garden of Memory” was held for the first time in 2020, its goal is to plant 29 million trees in memory of everyone who died during the Great Patriotic War. During the event, more than 100 million trees were planted, and more than five million people from 50 countries took part in it.
