Moscow. 26 April. INTERFAX.RU – Russia is interested in the industrial development of lithium deposits in Bolivia, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a press conference after negotiations in Moscow with Bolivian Foreign Minister Celinda Sosa Lunda.

“We consider the development of the industrial development of Bolivian lithium deposits as an undeniably promising direction,” he said.

According to him, the ministers at this meeting “talked a lot about what additional steps need to be taken to find a solution that meets the interests of our countries, reflecting the balance of these interests, including taking into account those initiatives that the Bolivian side, in turn, advanced in the areas of energy and agricultural supply.”

Lavrov emphasized that there are “significant opportunities” for cooperation between Russia and Bolivia in the energy sector.

The minister recalled that the Russian Gazprom is carrying out joint development of fields in Bolivia, and the state corporation Rosatom is implementing a project to build a Nuclear Research Center in Bolivia, unique for all of Latin America.
