“There are still real men”: a Kaliningrad woman is looking for an unknown person who helped with a car that was smoking on the highway

Kaliningrad resident Oksana Chekutova is trying to find a caring driver who helped her cope with a car that was smoking on the highway. The woman contacted the Klops editorial office.

The incident happened on Thursday, April 25. Oksana went to work through the Primorskoye Ring. Between the Kulikovo and Pionersky exits the car began to smoke.

“We were terribly scared with our employees, you never know, what if it catches fire?! We started calling service. Evacuation is expensive! They didn’t know what to do, they turned on the hazard warning sign, raised the hood…” shared Oksana Chekutova.

Suddenly a black Volkswagen minibus stopped nearby. At first, the women locked their car doors in fear.

“In our lives, we are all so frightened by various scammers, inadequate people, that when just a person with good intentions comes to our aid, we don’t know how to behave! Everything seems too suspicious,” the Kaliningrad resident shared.

But a middle-aged man who introduced himself as Pavel stopped to help. Together with Oksana, they examined the car. Pavel poured antifreeze into the system.

“I’m only grateful [ему] I was able to get to the car service center in Pionersky. I drove off, and he adjusted to my driving rhythm and <...> watched from behind to see whether I would get there or not. And only when I got there, he went about his business, can you imagine? There are still real men who are ready to help a woman! Pavel is simply an endangered species!” – Oksana smiles.

The charity center “I Believe in Miracles” has opened a fundraiser for a swimming pool for the first children’s hospice in Kaliningrad.
