In Russia, on April 26, they remember the largest man-made disaster – 38 years have passed since the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. The radioactive cloud covered most of the territory of the Bryansk region: the territories of 22 of 27 districts, the cities of Novozybkov, Zlynka, Klintsy, Starodub, where about 400 thousand people lived, were contaminated to a greater or lesser extent.

In Bryansk, in memory of this terrible event in the history of our country, 18 years ago, a monument to the victims of Chernobyl appeared in the park on Duki Street. Today, a funeral event was held there, in which the leaders of Bryansk took part – the head of the city Marina Dbar and the head of the city administration Alexander Makarov.

Living veterans of the Chernobyl accident liquidators also came today to the shattered Ball, installed on a pedestal resembling a sign of radiation danger, to remember their comrades, honor their memory with a minute of silence and lay flowers.
