Ambulance teams in the Pskov region respond to an average of 500 calls per day, said Samir Al-Arabi, deputy chief physician for the medical unit of the Pskov emergency medical station, on the air of the “Anamnesis” program on the “Silver Rain” radio station (88.3 FM) in Pskov today , 26 April.
During the coronavirus pandemic or the rise of seasonal diseases, the number of calls can reach 800, added Samir Al-Arabi. “Of course, this number depends on seasonality, and even often on the time of day,” noted the radio guest.
The doctor recalled that ambulance staff do not prescribe treatment, but only provide emergency care. “If you need advice from a neurologist, cardiologist or other specialist, you need to consult a doctor at your place of residence,” the specialist emphasized.
It was previously reported that ambulances responded to calls in the Pskov region almost seven thousand times during the New Year holidays.
